I'm still fasting, here's an update on what I'm doing now.
So, I can’t tell you if I’ve lost weight or anything, that hasn’t been the goal, and I haven’t really checked. But, in terms of how I feel, I have been feeling much better.
The last few weeks…
So, my schedule looked like this:
Wednesday: Eat whatever I want
Friday: Eat whatever I want
Sat: Eat whatever I want
Sun: Eat whatever I want
Now, what I found using this schedule was that on Wednesday I ate too much. I wanted the best foods I could get, and I avoided eating at home.
Same for Saturday and Sunday.
It was nice not to feel so guilty on my eating days! That’s part of the goal!
But, I didn’t feel full. I ate a lot, but didn’t feel overly-full really at all. But, I also felt like I was just catching up on my fasting days by doubling my calories on those days. Though I didn’t feel full, I did feel like I ate poorly. I could be eating better on my eating days. I was missing the feeling of eating healthier. So, now my schedule looks like this:
Tuesday: Eat at home (no eating out)
Thursday: Eat at home (no eating out)
Sat/Sun: Eat whatever I want (including eating out)
I’m hoping that with this schedule I can start to reduce the feeling of having eaten poorly on my non-fasting days, while having the weekend to splurge a little. We’ll see how this goes.
Some interesting notes…
I usually drink a little chicken broth mid-day on my fasting days, just to get some salt, it really helps me from getting groggy
I usually have MORE energy on my fasting days than my eating days, Tennis is usually high-intensity on my fasting days! 🎾
I sleep better on my fasting days!
It’s been easier to get dehydrated, and keeping hydrated is a bit of a chore, drinking quite a lot on my fasting days is difficult, but necessary!
