Todoist all the thingz
I finally ditched @Apple Reminders and now all my Work & Personal stuff is in @todoist, here's why...

Funny how one little thing can ruin all the excitement! So there was this one little annoyance with Todoist I couldn’t stand: When you set a reminder, the notification you click doesn’t take you to the task…
So, as of right now I actually have all my Todo’s (yes, work and personal) in Apple Reminders. I’m just super fed-up with trying to find the perfect Todo app for now. Here’s what it looks like:
Reminders isn’t perfect for Work stuff. But neither is TickTick, or Todoist… maybe the perfect todo app just isn’t out there….
Original Post
For a long time I was a big fan of Apple Reminders: it was simple, it got the job done….well except for work.
For work I need more! I tried using Reminders for personal and work stuff, but it never worked out for work stuff. Here’s what I needed that Reminders couldn’t supply:
Due dates with separate reminders
Rich notes with links, italics, bold, etc
Comments
Filtering
Now reminders does #3 a lot better today, but does not do well for #2 or #1. You have due-dates only, and they call those “reminders.”
Now, I’ve used a lot of other software for work todo’s and I’ve landed, recently, on Todoist because, unlike other software it has super-rich markdown-based editing (even in things like the title), multiple reminders that are separate from the due date, great commenting, and so-far okay filtering.
It’s the multiple-reminders that really sold me on moving my personal stuff over to Todoist. A task can have a due date, and multiple reminders…for a forgetful person like me, that’s a god-send!
A plus is that it looks-and-feels like Reminders! It feels like a part of the Apple ecosystem, but … it’s better.
Tags got a little tricky, and I had to create work-only tags and personal-only tags:
👨🏻💻 is for work stuff, 🙋🏻 personal. For now I’m okay with this… Filtering helps…
The other rational was that I also have all my calendars in one place: personal and work… I’ve always wanted to have all my things in one place (but also filterable so they don’t always mix)… And now I have one app for all my todo’s, one app for my e-mail (Mail.app), and one app for all my calendars (Apple Calendar is still great for calendars).
There are a few things that bug me about Todoist, but I won’t go over those now (maybe a post for later). But for now, it feels good finally finding what might be the right todo-app for me…
